Here are my favorite primer picks, both for eyes and face!

First I want to explain my skin type. My skin has pretty much been all over the place. Since I was about 11, I have had crazy acne all over my face, which means my skin was very, very oily. You could definitely fry an egg on my forehead, but luckily, about 2 years ago, I was able to go on a medication called Accutane, that fights the bacteria under the skin, causing oil and breakouts. Accutane saved my skin for some time, but then the breakouts came back, and they were bad again. So I got on Accutane again, and my skin got super dry, because Accutane dries out the skin. Now that I'm off the medication and have been off it for about 3 months, I would say my skin is normal to combination. It's not dry, but it's not crazy oily either, I just get a bit oily in the t-zone (forehead and nose) during the day. But since I have tried having all different skin types, I feel like I have found some products that works on dry, oily or combination skin.

Eye Primers:

This primer is a lightish skin toned color, but when you rub it in, it's clear. It has a silicone to lotion feeling and it works great as an everyday eyelid primer. If you have slightly greasy lids, like me, your eyeshadow will stay on the whole day with this one and it's crazy that this primer only costs 1 dollar!!!!

This was one of the first hi-end makeup products I bought and that was about 4 years ago, and it's been sticking with me since. This is the best all in one eyelid primer. This pretty much works on all eyelids, if you have crazy oily lids, maybe try NARS Pro-Prime instead. Urban Decay Primer Potion will keep your eyeshadow vibrant and long lasting throughout the whole day. A little goes a long way with this one, so the tube will last you a long time, which is nice when this primer costs a bit more then the e.l.f. one.

This primer is skin colored and will even out your eyelids slightly, if you have visible veins on your lids. As the two others, it pretty much does the same. It makes your eye makeup long lasting and makes the colors more vibrant. This feels more like a lotion, than a silicone based primer and for those people that don't like that silicone feeling, you should give this one a go. Regarding price, it's in between the two others.

Face Primers:

This is a weird one, because it's technically not a face primer, but there has been a lot of hype about this product, so I wanted to try it out and for my skin it works great! It's been my go to primer for the past year. This product is silicone based and clear in color, and feels like many other primers. The reason why silicone is good in primers is because, it smoothes out the skin and hides any large pores and fine lines and it grips on to foundation and concealers way better, than if you didn't have a primer on the skin. This keeps my makeup on for about 10 hours and controls the oil on my t-zone.

This product is a light pinkish color, but turns clear when applying it to the face. I mostly use this for hiding large pores, and since it's silicone based it does a great job doing that. I would say this primer would be great for people with dry to normal skin, because it evens out the skin, but it doesn't control oil as much as the other ones I have mentioned and therefore it won't dry out dry skin even more.
