Of course we want our nails both on our hands and feet to look good during the summer and even when we're going away on vacation, so here are a few tips that might help you guys with keeping your nails looking great!

A few days before you head on vacation, you always want to make sure to remove all of your nail polish on your hands and feet. When the nails are clean you want to cut them shorter then you normally would and file them down. I always cut my nails pretty short, because they will grow out during my vacation and I don't want to bother doing a manicure/pedicure in the hot summer heat.

When you have got the claws trimmed, we want to treat those cuticles! First apply a cuticle oil, I love this one from Sally Hansen. Apply a few drops of the oil to each nail and let it sit, before pushing your cuticles down with a citicle pusher or something with a small edge, like the side of your nail cutters or twezzers.

If you want to paint your nails, use some nail polish remover and a cotton round, to remove the excess oil from your nails, before applying polish. This is going to make the nail polish stick to your nails a lot better. If you just want nice looking clean nails, leave the oil on until it absorbs completely into your nails and then you're done. If you want to apply a polish, keep on reading..

Now you are ready for painting your nails. If you are like me and don't really want to bother with your nails while being on vacation, use something like the Sensationail Gel Polish Starter Kit set, to give yourself your own gel polish mani- and pedicure. This is going to last for about 2 weeks without any chipping and for 3 weeks with some chipping, at the ends of your nails. I love this kit, because it does what is says and it's so easy to use.

If you want to use regular nail polish, apply a good base coat, I have been liking the So Perfect Base Coat by Bourjois.
Then apply a good long lasting nail polish. I LOVE the Berry M Hi-Shine nail polishes, they stay on for soo long and their colors are perfect for summer!

And finish it off with a good top coat. As I have mentioned before, i think the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat is amazing.

To nourish my nails even more and make my nail polish dry faster, I use the CND SolarSpeed Spray.

You can always bring a travel sized nail polish remover and a nail polish of your choice on vacation with you, if the polish ends up chipping at the end of your vacation. Just remove the old and paint the new polish on and you are good to go for a few more days!

Now your nails are going to look awesome through your summer vacations!
